Whether you’re searching for big name acts or local bands, check out our guide to Manchester’s best live music venues and shows.
Well do you, do you, do you wanna? Go to see some live music, that is – and the answer is: well, of course you do.
First on your hit list in Manchester this summer should be Sounds of the City which returns to the Castlefield Bowl after a year away (no guesses as to why that was).
There are live sets from Foals, The Streets, Crowded House, Paul Heaton and something a little more refined with Hacienda Classical – ideal for anyone who used to love a rave back in the day but now likes a nice sit-down.
Here's the line-up so far.

Castlefield Bowl has seen some legendary gigs over the years with The Pixies, Bjork, Janelle Monáe, Arcade Fire and Elbow all performing in the outdoor space. And if you know anyone who lives in the flats nextdoor, with balconies that face the stage, give them a call quick and try to bag a spot there. Those lucky people.
Sounds of the City takes place throughout June and July 2021. Tickets on sale here.
