London's Natural History Museum caused a dinosaur sized fury recently when it suggested that Dippy the diplodocus, a cast of a skeleton which has greeted visitors to the museum since 1979, be replaced by one of a blue whale. Despite a 32,000 strong petition to keep him, Dippy is off on his travels.
The museum is asking for venues around the country to welcome Dippy as a guest for a few months whilst they prepare a new site for the old chap.
Do you fancy seeing him in Manchester?
Manchester Museum perhaps or somewhere less obvious? What do you think? Where do you think we should be able to see Dippy if he hits town?
Dippy's tour will begin in 2018. Venues can apply to host the diplodocus cast from September at www.nhm.ac.uk/dippyontour so start asking them now if you want to see him here.
