Manchester's nightlife is nothing short of legendary and there is something to cater to all - from cheap-as-chips student nights, to swanky clubs, to rock bars. Clubbing isn't just reserved for the weekend with a variety of club nights taking place throughout the week so here's a look at just some of them.
Fifth Avenue proclaims itself to be 'Manchester's number one indie experience' and in its own right it's a clubbing landmark in Manchester's strobe light-lit nightlife scene. The club consists of a giant dance floor space, balconies, state of the art lighting and sound and best of all, cheap drinks. The student friendliness of the club means that there's never a quiet night. Watch out for the slippery floors, the liveliness of the place makes for a lot of drink spilling.
If you couldn't quite grasp by the name, Satan's Hollow is one of Manchester's few clubs aimed at punk, rock and metal lovers. Complete with two bars, a large dance floor and a decor reminiscent of a 90s graveyard horror film, Satan's Hollow is particularly popular with a distinctive and young clientèle. However, it will take you a good three times to actually manage to find the place, and that's after you've asked for directions from a hen do spilling out onto Princess Street. With this in mind, plug 101 Princess Street into your phone - you're welcome. Don't be afraid of the piercings and skinny jeans, it's giant statue of Satan which is the most terrifying. Especially four pints and two shots into the night.
Joshua Brooks is the perfect cocktail of traditional pub and cavernous club. Sat on the corner of Princess Street the highly acclaimed venue has been named one of the best small clubs in the UK. The upstairs pub is clean and fresh, stocked with a selection of ales, craft beer and even scotch. Making your way downstairs the atmosphere shifts as the room gets darker. Some people have said it reminds them of a dungeon yet the setting makes for a unique clubbing experience. Watch out for their Juicy events, it's guaranteed to be full to the brim.
Tokyo Chipped
Arguably the most unique night in our line up, Tokyo Chipped is a comic-con night club. Picture Storm Troopers and mutants having a dance battle to 'Uptown Funk'. Concealed within Portland Street at Fab Cafe the night is jam-packed with opportunities to get your hands on some Forbidden Planet goodies, whether that be through the quiz, cosplay competition or Tekken tournament. With drink offers on throughout the night get yourself down there and take a trip in their Tardis, but a word of advice: do not insult someone's cosplay.
Complete with three floors of heart-pounding music Manchester's Factory building has stood since the dawn of 'Madchester'. Take this as a warning, you will get sweaty. You'll find yourself swimming through crowds of sweat drenched clubbers to get from the bar back to your spot with your friends, which will inevitably shift from the moment you leave. Just be careful not to knock someone's drink out of their hands. Factory has something for everyone. Whether it be indie, rock, house or dance which is shared between the three floors: you're in for a good night.
