Three UK premieres have been confirmed as the first titles for Grimmfest 2015.
The annual horror, cult, fantasy and sci-fi festival will feature at least 20 feature film premieres along with a range of shorts from across the globe.
For 2015, the event has moved to a new venue – the Odeon cinema in the Printworks – and the organisers promise a programme packed with the very best new films including world and European premieres.
The first three films that have been confirmed for the festival are:
‘He Never Died’
Starring Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins, ‘He Never Died’ follows Jack – a character struggling with depression and severe antisocial behaviour which has led to him seeing the human race as nothing more than meat with a pulse. The violent tale of personal responsibility sees Jack trying to eat as few people as possible.
‘Synchronicity’
A ‘sci-fi noir’, ‘Synchronicity’ follows a physicist who invents a machine that can fold space-time. A rare Dahlia appears from the future and he seeks to find the flower’s identical match in the present to prove that his machine works. He finds it in the hands of a girl who seduces him into revealing his secrets, and convinced that she’s trying to steal his invention he travels back in time to prevent the betrayal. But in doing so, he uncovers a truth about the machine, the girl and his own reality.
‘Excess Flesh’
Jealousy and rage dominate ‘Excess Flesh’, which centres on LA dweller Jill’s obsession with her new roommate Jennifer, a hotshot in the city’s fashion scene who seemingly has everything. Jill wants to be just like Jennifer and if she can’t be her, she must destroy her.
More films are to be announced shortly.
