Oh we do love a good celebration of plots to overthrow the government here in Manchester and 2015 is no exception as as we mark the 1605 Gunpowder Plot with a series of spectacular bonfires and firework displays across the city.

For 2015 Manchester Council have organised official celebrations at parks across the city, and each will be accompanied by a funfair.

Thursday October 30 at Cringle Park
Thursday October 30 at Crumpsall Park
Saturday November 1 at Philips/Sports City
Sunday November 2 at Brookdale Park
Wednesday November 5 at Heaton Park
Wednesday November 5 at Platt Fields Park
Wednesday November 5 at Wythenshawe Park

Whist the funfairs will be open from 5pm-9.30pm, the bonfires themselves won't be lit until 7.30pm and will be followed by displays of glorious fireworks.

Each park will also have food, drink and gift stalls, and if you're planning on going, you're reminded to dress up warm and get there early as parking space is limited.
