If you were up and about in the early hours of this morning, you may have noticed the Moon looking a bit different than it normally does.
As a result of a lunar eclipse coinciding with a ‘supermoon’, which is when the Moon is in the closest part of its orbit to the Earth making it appear larger, the Moon appeared red for a brief period. The phenomenon was last seen in 1982 and isn’t expected to happen again until 2033.
But if you were fast asleep and missed all the action, not to worry as social media users in Manchester were up and about sharing their pictures. Here’s just a few of them.
