This week we've got a festival about feeling better about being sick, a truly great Manchester band and some exciting new film releases coming our way.

Sick Festival from Mon Mar 2, various venues
The SICK! Festival hits Manchester with a series of events looking at health in all its forms - mental, physical, social - and the most urgent challenges we face to maintain good health! There are some amazing events going on, some of which we've included here.

Prurience by Christopher Green, Contact Theatre and secret venue, Wed Mar 4, £10
The genius of Christopher Green is not only his ability to create characters and situations which make us howl with laughter, they often stay with us to make us think a bit too. From Ida Barr to Tina C, Green is a master of comedy. This new show puts you inside a sex addict therapy session...

What Tammy Needs to Know About Getting Old and Having Sex, Z Arts, Fri Mar 6, £10
Tammy WhyNot (Lois Weaver) explores the truth about sex when you're beyond a certain age. Part performance and part chat-show, this piece has been developed with older people in Manchester.

Sick Festival

Glass Animals, Gorilla, Thu Mar 5, £10
Oxford electronic boys getting very good reviews for their debut album and creating quite the buzz.

The Charlatans, Albert Hall, Thu 5 & Fri 6 Mar, £32.50
Their first tour since the sad death of drummer John Brooks back in 2010 sees them on the verge of launching their 12th studio album, and we get to enjoy them for two nights!

Urban Food Fest, Euro Car Park, Deansgate, Sat Mar 7
The best in street food plus live music and pop up bars. Already hugely popular in other cities, let's hope this proves to be so here too.

Al Murray, The Lowry, Sun Mar 8, £26.50
Observational humour and banter from the character comic, plus Jarlath Regan, Josh Widdicombe, Kerry Godliman and Des Bishop.

Brendan Cole - A Night to Remember, Opera House, Sun Mar 8, £28.90-£36.90
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' star presents a large-scale music and dance extravaganza, featuring the magic of ballroom and Latin excitement.
