Like a cross between a bar and a teenage bedroom, Fab Café is a shrine to fabulous TV and film artefacts and to drinking.
Stepping down into the basement bar from Portland Street is like entering another world. Over in that corner you can play table pacman by the side of the Tardis. Sip a beer as the life-size alien and accompanying facehugger lurch behind you, or marvel at the collection of memorabilia that adorns the selves, the thunderbrids model hanging from the ceiling or the Star Wars sofa covering.
Accompanying the things to see and do are drinks aplenty including a couple of changing ales sourced from local brewers, and there's a small and very reasonable food menu - fishfinger butties and Heinz soups sort of thing.
Music is suitably ecelctic too - the dancefloor won't be filling up with any banging hard house so you can relax and bop to Pulp instead.
Regular events include the Wednesday quiz night, gaming Tuesday and the less regular Geek Nights, so check the site for details.
