Drama, opera, dance, operetta, concerts, children’s shows, flamenco, musicals ... Teatros del Canal have an extensive programme of entertainment where you’ll find (almost) everything. If you’re interested in the building itself, which was designed by architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg and was awarded the National Architecture Prize in 2008, you can go on a guided tour and take it easy or even have lunch (the set menu costs €12) or have a coffee while you observe the activity on the stage. Stop by at their cafe and terrace (especially in spring and summer). One of its three modules houses the Centro Danza Canal (CDC), a space for the creation and popularization of dance, and the theatre’s resident dance company, the Ballet de Víctor Ullate–Comunidad de Madrid.
