Located on the ground floor of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, this theatre was opened in 1961 by José Tamayo, founder of the Lope de Vega Company. The inaugural show was 'Divinas Palabras', and since then major works have been played on the stage. The Centro Dramático Nacional also got its start in this theatre. A painting by Vicente Viudes adorns the entry of this small space.
