José Martret and Alberto Puraenvidia, creators of La Casa de la Portera, jump in with both feet to bring Madrid another new space dedicated to theatre. La Pensión de las Pulgas is located in the building that was owned by La Bella Chelito, the first Spanish theatre businesswoman who bought what we now know as the Teatro Muñoz Seca and called it the Chantecler. She made the 'La Pulga' 'cuplé' famous, giving the name to this space that's some 190m2 where theatre fans can enjoy performances in an intimate setting.
