Since football club Atlético de Madrid took over this stadium in 2017, it's been completely remodelled, and for sponsorship reasons it's now called Wanda Metropolitano, and has a capacity to hold 67,829 spectators – nearly 13,000 more than Atlético's old home at the Vicente Calderón stadium. Thanks to the bigger size, it's also a great place for other events and big concerts. In fact, the first two acts to perform in this new incarnation are Bruno Mars and then Iron Maiden. Not a bad way to inaugurate the new stage of the stadium.
