Time Out says

This wine bar’s name is a game with multiple layers. The most obvious brings us to the DisTinto’s foundation: wine. But there’s also a hidden message for those in the know about the spot’s physical location. In the surrounding neighborhood - mere steps from the Golden Triangle of Art - beer reigns. But in a sea of cerveza, the people behind DisTinto’s unique labels continue to dedicate themselves to exploring the wide world of wine, making them a distinct façade on the well trodden beer path.

All you have to do to learn something is step down a short flight of stairs and approach the bar. Here, you’ll find countless labels describing unfamiliar regions and unique grape varietals. If you’re looking for one of the “three big R’s” (Rioja, Ribera or Rueda), you might want to expand your horizons. Ivan de la Torre, one of the bar’s four owners and a certified somm, will be happy to pour you a glass of one of those classics, but keeping an open mind is the surest way to have a great night at DisTinto.

But if the tavern’s foundation is wine, its scaffolding is delicious, inventive dishes. All of the shared plates, warm stews, and rotating daily offerings are imbued with the personality of DisTinto and made of the freshest local ingredients.
