Jorge Molder studied philosophy, but soon turned to photography for his livelihood. This exhibition of nearly 50 photographs brings together a selection from his most significant series dating from 1990 through to the present day, divided into different series including aged self-portraits. In his work, linked to other arts such as painting, sculpture and literature, the Portuguese photographer stands as a spectator and critic of himself and the space around him.
In 2010, Molder was recognised with the Grande Prémio Fundação EDP/Arte (Grand Prize of the EDP Foundation/Art), one of Portugal's most prestigious awards in the field of visual arts. Now this exhibition comes to the Círculo de Bellas Artes following its showing at Lisbon's National Museum of Contemporary Art.
