One of the greatest soul singers of our generation, as well as the walking embodiment of a heartbreak ballad, Sam Smith is set to perform in Macau for the very first time on October 19 and 20. Part of Smith’s The Thrill of it All world tour to promote his second studio album of the same name, the concerts are taking place at the newly minted MGM Theater housed within the MGM Cotai luxury resort.

Since rising to fame in 2012 for his appearance on Disclosure’s single, Latch, the talented singer-songwriter has won a string of accolades, including four Grammy awards, five top 10 hits and three Billboard Music Awards. In 2014, his tragic, gospel-tinged ballad Stay with Me became an international sensation with its album, In the Lonely Hour, selling more than 14 million copies worldwide. If that’s not impressive enough, Smith reportedly penned Writing’s on the Wall – the James Bond theme song that won him an Academy Award – in just 20 minutes.

For the two shows at MGM Cotai, fans can expect hits from Smith’s latest album, including Too Good at Goodbyes and One Last Song, as well as older, heartstring-tugging favourites. As an added bonus, concertgoers can immerse themselves in Smith’s powerful and emotive vocals in the comfort of the MGM Theater, a versatile, 2,000-seat venue that boasts cutting-edge audiovisual technology and seats designed by the same furniture maker that outfits Ferrari’s cars. The dynamic theatre is also the first of its kind to feature a revolving seating system that surrounds the stage, meaning that everyone can enjoy perfect views of Smith’s performances.

Tickets for Sam Smith’s Macau performance are available here. Grab yours now so you don’t miss out on the thrill of it all.
