You can already visit a TV-perfect Central Perk set on the Warner Bros. Studios tour, so how does a Friends pop-up go about differentiating itself? By rebuilding the ’90s sitcom’s iconic coffeehouse entirely out of LEGO.
Artist Nathan Sawaya has created a life-size replica of Central Perk from over a million LEGO bricks—yes, you can sit on the orange sofa, and yes, we’re already thinking about how uncomfortable that’ll probably be. It’s part of an AT&T and Warner Bros. Television collaboration to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.
The pop-up, which hits the Santa Monica Promenade from December 5 through 23, also includes clips playing inside of Monica’s purple door peephole, a recreation of Joey and Chandler’s white “Pat the Dog” sculpture, a “Smelly Cat” recording booth and a trivia challenge (actually, it’s Miss Chanandler Bong).
Tickets are totally free, and online reservations are available starting November 25.
