Let's take a moment to appreciate character actor Harry Dean Stanton's prolific credits, from a Xenomorph-offed engineer in Alien to a coked up repo man in, well, Repo Man, and from Molly Ringwald's father in Pretty in Pink to a megalomaniacal polygamist in Big Love. And he's still going: At the age of 90 years young, he's set to reprise his small Twin Peaks role in next year's revival. So let's not take a moment to appreciate Stanton; let's devote an entire star-studded evening and award to him. Karen O, the charismatic Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman, tops a lineup that includes Kris Kristofferson, Father John Misty, John C. Reilly, Ed Begley Jr. and more in a musical and cinematic salute and award presentation to the veteran actor, who'll also be in attendance. The event doubles as a fundraiser for the Vidiots Foundation, the kickass Santa Monica video store's recently hatched film library non-profit.
