Rising Tohoku Fair

Commemorating the devastating tsunami that hit Japan in 2011, Mitsuwa Marketplace in Torrance is hosting "Rising Tohoku Food Fair," a jamboree highlighting the regional foods of Tohoku including ramen, rice, Japanese sweets and apples (little-known fact: it’s the home of the Fuji apple). Sample Japanese-style uni, rice balls, bento boxes, scallops, ramen and custard cakes, some flown in from Tohoku just for the fair.
