Seasoned photographer and author Joel Sartore has contributed to National Geographic magazine for 20 years. Now, Angelenos will have a chance to hear from the well-traveled lensman and experience his ongoing project, the Photo Ark, in which Sartore captures stunning portraits of the world's species before they disappear. Learn about his comical and daring adventures as he photographed everything from pandas to lemurs in far-fetched places around the globe—from the High Arctic to the Antarctic. Sartore, who recently authored his new book, THE PHOTO ARK: One Man’s Quest to Document the World’s Animals, will kickstart the first event of the National Geographic Live series at the Broad Stage on September 7 and 8.
