The Academy Museum is hosting a day of spooky silver screen experiences, looking at Halloween through a cinematic lens. Expect ghostly gallery tours, appearances by Universal Studios monsters, magic-lantern shows, family workshops and special-effects makeup demonstrations by three Academy members. (A community mural, the makeup demos and character meet-and-greet don’t require a museum ticket.) There’s also a full film program of classic monster movies: Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (11am), Drácula in 4K (2pm) and a 70th anniversary screening of Creature From the Black Lagoon in 3D (7:30pm).
