No, the Sistine Chapel hasn’t suddenly uprooted itself and moved to SoCal. But a visit to this ceiling-covering reproduction of Michelangelo’s masterpiece is way easier than a trip to Vatican City.
This touring exhibition emulates the experience of seeing 34 of those famous frescoes (like The Last Judgment and The Creation of Adam) up close, albeit with a little less neck craning since you’ll be seeing them in a Beverly Grove storefront instead of one of the most famous Renaissance chapels in the world. The organizers note that they’ve used a printing technique that makes their photographic reproductions look just like the originals, so we guess keep that in mind as you jack up the saturation on your social media posts.
Timed tickets are available on the half hour, and you can expect to spend upwards of an hour there. Reservations cost between $19.20 and $23.10, depending on the day of the week and time. You’ll find it at 333 South La Cienega Boulevard, across from the Beverly Center.
