Add some Eastside flavor to the Day of the Dead with this annual community celebration at the Plaza de la Raza in Lincoln Park, now in its 14th year. Founder Antonio Pelayo promises the festival’s “most unique programming to date, featuring a night full of art, music, entertainment and culture.” An art exhibit will showcase Day of the Dead–themed pieces from over 100 artists, including photographers Estevan Oriol and Eriberto Oriol—who are being honored with Legends Awards—as well as OBEY founder Shepard Fairey. For entertainment, there will be music performances by Buyepongo, cumbia band Poco Pocho, Latin pop singer Leyo, professional dance performances by Folklor Pasion Mexicana and Aztec dancers, and even a Day of the Dead–inspired puppet show by Bob Baker Marionette Theater.
