Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival at Rose Hills

What better place to observe Day of the Dead than at the country's most sprawling cemetery? Rose Hills Memorial Park (3888 Workman Mill Rd) in Whittier puts on this colorful display of dancing, art and altars. Fill up on traditional treats, take a seat on the lawn for a musical performance or peruse the Mercado de la Rosa for calaca jewelry and accessories or stop for something to eat in the Plaza de la Rosa. There's only one entrance into the hillside cemetery and it's right off the 605, so expect traffic to back up onto the freeway.
