Scared off by the Halloween crowds along Carroll Avenue? Go trick-or-treating along L.A.’s other collection of old Victorian homes during this ticketed event at Heritage Square Museum.
This hour-long, Halloween-week experience, which counts a pair of Midsummer Scream producers among its creators, will set up 13 themed trick-or-treating stops (this year it’s a 1950s and ’60s pop culture theme) at this final resting place for some ornate late-1800s houses. Despite the scary name, the event is mostly aimed at kids, particularly during the day. But the event organizers do suggest that things will become spooky-but-not-scary as eerie characters and ghostly effects invade the evening.
You’ll need a timed ticket, available on the hour, to visit; admission costs $27 during the day but ticks up to $32 after dark. Enter at 3515 Pasadena Avenue, the special event entrance, not at the museum’s main entrance on Homer Street.
