Consider AxS Festival a celebration of curiosity: The Pasadena fest organizes events all over the Arroyo that examine the nexus of art and science. It might sound lofty—after all, this is the home of JPL and Caltech—but the festival is full of eye candy and interactive spectacles where architecture, music and theater meet cutting-edge technology. This year’s “City as Wunderkammer” event explores two central themes, macrocosm and microcosm, with talks, video and sound installations, and gallery shows across the city.
