L.A. Opera brings back one of its favorite leading ladies, soprano Nino Machaidize, to play a veiled priestess who returns to town and reignites a love triangle between lifelong friends. Once Leila makes her choice, the duo are sent to be sacrificed together by the pearl fishers but a forgotten secret saves the day.
