RECOMMENDED: The best farmers' markets in LA

Located just south of San Vicente Boulevard, the Brentwood Farmers' Market draws in crowds of locals every Sunday. Shop for seasonal fruit and veggies at this market, where you're bound to spot local celebs, including power couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. The always jam-packed market has ample (free!) street parking—though you'll have to be patient—and you should arrive hungry as samples here are aplenty. As you enter the market, you'll be greeted by beautiful, fresh flowers; the Arnett Farms stall stocked with apples, pears, plums and peaches (depending on the season) and packages of dried fruit; Yong Xiong Farms and Yang's Produce, where you can snag hard-to-find Asian vegetables; and Country Fresh Farms for "super antioxidant micro greens," a must for any organic-obsessed Brentwood family.

The weekly event offers most market staples—kettle corn, fresh-squeezed orange juice and cage-free, organic eggs—but the eats are also gourmet and global. Midway through the market, stop at Perkside for coffee, smoothies and other drinks prepared via the parked truck. Load up on baked goods from Röckenwagner, the German bakery that recently opened Cafe Röckenwagner five minutes away on Barrington Ave and Wilshire Blvd, or cool off with aguas frescas from Tropical Island. Toward the end of the stalls, there are two (somewhat rundown) bounce houses and a small petting zoo with baby lambs, piglets, lamas and other small animals to keep the farmers market-loving kids entertained.
