Maycoll Calderón's first U.S. restaurant includes a so-whimsical patio, plopping a secret garden into the heart of Silver Lake. It's here you can enjoy the Mexico City chef's cocina de campo cooking, featuring multiple varieties of grilled whole fish. Despite the perfection of that ambiance, the food manages to zap some of this restaurant's whimsy; prices are steep for small portions and hit-or-miss cocktails, and the service could let tables breathe. That said, it is a beautiful place to spend an evening.
