A permanent collab between Saucy Chick Rotisserie and the Goat Mafia, this West Third Street storefront offering Mexican-Indian fast-casual fare generally fails to live up to the hype. While we enjoyed the funky goat birria, the much-lauded rotisserie chicken leaves much to be desired in terms of moisture content. We tried both the jeera (Indian) and pibil (Mexican) rice bowls, and the flavors of both culinary traditions felt muddled, rather than complementary, no matter how much sauce we added. The chaat-chos—a mix of Indian chaat and Mexican American nachos—packs far too many ingredients into a single dish. The novelty-obssessed crowds at Smorgasburg might enjoy this maximalist approach to fusion cuisine, but those unfamiliar with either concept will likely find the fare here underwhelming despite the sheer volume of spices used.
