With chewy noodles and six different broths, this Koreatown strip mall spot is a little less well-known than most L.A. ramenyas, but the high-quality broths and no-shortcuts approach to the art of ramen make Saikai stand out in a sea of L.A.'s decent, but not necessarily great ramen options. Beautifully charred slices of chashu top any tonkotsu broth, while the vegetarian-friendly vegetable miso comes topped with luxurious buttered corn and tofu. In addition to ramen, Saikai also offers sandos and bento boxes, whose delicious housemade side salads and careful attention to detail lead to a delicious, adorably packaged result.
