One of L.A.'s best pop-ups is now one of L.A.'s best restaurants, complete with dine-in seating at their newly opened Hill Street location. Johnny Lee is the underground king of char siu, and after a stint in Chicago, the pop-up chef came back and reprised his Cantonese comfort-food concept, Pearl River Deli (formerly Pearl River Delta)—and now, you can find it in Chinatown kitty-corner from adorable Asian American minimart Sesame LA. In addition to chef Johnny Lee's gorgeously lacquered char siu and an always-popular Hainan chicken rice, PRD also offers other regional specialties of the Chinese diaspora: think Chinese-Japanese crab omurice, a Macau-style fried pork chop sandwich and Singaporean nasi lemak.
