We started counting down the days to the Los Angeles Times' annual food fest, The Taste, as soon as the lineup came out. Held each year on the Paramount Picture Studios lot in Hollywood and hosted by local food heavyweights—we're talking Jonathan Gold, Russ Parsons, Jenn Harris and others—the three-day festival this past weekend was a smorgasbord of LA's best restaurants and chefs offering bites of beautifully plated dishes. There were a few noticeable trends: sliders were a popular option, Sunday's Brunch & BBQ event saw plenty of chicken and waffles, and ice cream seemed to be around every corner (Our favorite? Bulgarini Gelato, hands down.). If you couldn't make it this year, take a tour of The Taste through our slideshow—just maybe not on an empty stomach.
