Lemonade

LA needs more of this type of mini-chain. The lengthy menu covers cafeteria-style dishes (braises such as red miso beef short rib), rices, noodles, pastas and side dishes, plus toothsome sandwiches (beef and horseradish aioli, for instance). To drink, there are basic coffees, plus soft drinks including a variety of lemonades. OK, the $1 cupcakes won't win any awards, and at busy times the ordering system can get a bit chaotic, but overall Lemonade is a winner. Some branches are open at weekends.
