Mexican street corn, Nashville hot chicken, Aussie beef pies—the LA Street Food Fest had something for everyone
In its sixth year, the LA Street Food Festival returned to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this past Saturday for an afternoon of eating that left everyone stuffed to the gills (and probably a little tipsy). While a solid list of food trucks and casual eateries handed out bites under the blazing sun, more upscale restaurants dotted the vendor lineup as well, with places like The Gadarene Swine and Faith & Flower in attendance. The lines were long (guys, it is definitely worth splurging on a VIP pass to avoid the crowd for the first two hours if you can swing it), but the food was worth the wait, with comfort food vendors like Bachi Burger, Fred 62 + Ramen 62, Greenspan's Grilled Cheese and Howlin' Rays garnering some of the longest lines. Oh yes, and there was plenty to drink, too: micheladas, breweries from across town and out of town, a Don Julio cocktail at Corazón y Miel, punch at The Church Key (who, as usual, were the life of the party) and a bunch of other boozy vendors. Check out some of our favorite bites and beverages from the festival.
