This West African fast-casual counter inside Culver City's Citizen Public Market has made two regional staples—jollof rice and pepper soup—far more accessible in Los Angeles. Founded by Nigerian chef Tolu “Eros” Erogbogbo, who also runs hosts the more upscale Ilé dinner series in Hollywood, the restaurant adds gourmet flourishes with hard-to-find ingredients from Nigeria and specialty desserts that make an afternoon meal here feel somewhat special. Guests can tailor each bowl or soup to their liking in terms of toppings, and soon will be able to enjoy African wines and beers (pending liquor license approval).
