Pushing the boundaries of an ordinary coffee shop, the dark and loungy Highland Café is an ideal place to work or meet friends for brunch. Inspired by the surrounding hybrid community, the menu offersvegetarian Mexican eats for breakfast (huevos rancheros, spinach and cream cheese omelet), lunch (fish tacos) and dinner (soy chorizo burrito). Try local favorite chilaquiles rojos: lightly fried corn tortilla chips in red chili sauce, served with eggs, onions, sour cream, queso fresco, avocado and cilantro ($8). Top it off with a guava cheese roll, made fresh each morning.
