Handsome Coffee Roasters (CLOSED)

Part coffee bar, part roasting plant, Handsome Coffee Roasters is Downtown Arts District's answer to Cheers. Everybody seems to know everyone and what's offered is straightforward—coffee, espresso, and 3-ounce, 5-ounce and 10-ounce cup espresso drinks made with whole milk, no sugar, no exceptions. Despite the limited menu—there are Proof Bakery pastries for nibbling—Handsome Coffee is a coffee nerd's delight and quickly converting others to the religion of proper coffee drinking. Every Wednesday night, the coffee bar stays open late for a pop-up farmers market where locals come in to shop a well-curated selection of local produce along with coffee beans and tools to set up their own home brewing station.
