Guelaguetza is a beacon of Oaxacan cuisine in L.A., thanks in no small part to the efforts and warmth of the Lopez family. Their bright and long-simmered generational recipes are at the heart of the restaurant's craveable—and award-winning—cuisine and now, thanks to a new cookbook, you can recreate them at home.
On December 8, Guelaguetza co-owner Bricia Lopez arrives at Lucques for a Oaxacan feast inspired by her heritage and her new cookbook, OAXACA: Home Cooking from the Heart of Mexico. The prix-fixe menu involves dishes ripped straight from the pages of the new book, which was co-authored by Javier Cabral, and includes courses such as market vegetables in guajillo sauce; goat-neck tacos in broth; and chicken in a creamy chipotle sauce with rice.
And because this is Lucques, after all, your dinner includes wine pairings by Caroline Styne, plus a celebratory cocktail from Lucques Group barman extraordinaire Christiaan Röllich.
