From the life-sized horse sculpture to the neon-pink signage outside, this ultra-campy Thai restaurant in West Adams is maximalist at its finest. Originally from San Francisco, Farmhouse Kitchen brings the same go-big-or-go-home energy to the presentation of its food. Almost every platter features butterfly pea purple-blue rice, there's overflowing platters of meat, pad thai with lobster in it and an enormous Lao Table Set with a little bit of everything the restaurant has to offer. Unfortunately, for the most part, the taste of the actual fare itself leaves much to be desired, from a watery, overcooked lobster pad thai to a subpar hat yai fried chicken that's a shadow of the one offered at citywide favorite Anajak Thai. Despite the fun atmosphere, this place would disappoint anyone familiar with the local Thai dining scene—and if you're in the mood for a booze-laced night out with panang curry and pad see ew, we'd rather steer you towards the well-established Night + Market.
