The Sixty Beverly Hills’ ultra-chic hotel eatery comes courtesy of the same team behind Melrose Umbrella Co., who gave the ground floor restaurant a whole new name and look. With bright, tropical interiors and moderately priced natural wines, Ella stands out from more uptight 90210 neighbors on all fronts: design, food, cocktails, bottle selection and approach to service. Ella’s delicious wood-fired seasonal Italian fare bears more than a passing resemblance to Culver City’s Etta, but head chef Brian Min’s rendition of crowd-pleasing small plates, pizza and pastas is just as skillful as the similar-sounding restaurant across town. However, playful touches like black-and-white Polaroids and a no-corkage fee for other tables (to foster new connections) make this relaxed but upbeat neighborhood restaurant a must-visit for the more nightlife-oriented Beverly Hills-adjacent crowd.
