Josiah Citrin's Venice steakhouse has expanded to the Sunset Strip, where dry-aged cuts, well-executed sides and a strong happy hour menu have primed it to become a locals' dealmaking hotspot and a solid after-work hangout. Charcoal's signature blackened cabbage is as good as ever; a few pastas, seafood and poultry dishes break up the meatfest for anyone who's not into steak. During nightly "glass off" (5:30–7pm, Tue–Sat), sit at the wraparound bar for an excellent $12 burger made with white American cheese and discounted cocktails. Seafood towers and other familiar hallmarks of the steakhouse genre might not be all that exciting, but for a high-quality steak on the Strip without a bunch of annoying TikTok influencers, look no further than Charcoal Sunset.
