Jeremy Fox is ramping up to the opening of Birdie G's—one of the year's most anticipated new restaurants—his homestyle spot carving out a corner in SaMo's Bergamot Station complex. But before we can fully taste the Rustic Canyon chef's upscale, locally sourced take on comfort food, the chef is opening the doors and giving us all a little preview of what to expect from Birdie G's with a three-night, 100-seat dinner series cooked by faces old and new. Each night is separated by theme, but at all three dinners you'll be able to sample some of what Fox has up his sleeves for his latest project.
June 5's National Treasures night enlists some of the best chefs in the country: Kim Alter of San Francisco's Nightbird; Naomi Pomeroy of Portland's Beast; James Syhabout of Oakland's Commis and Hawker Fare, among others; and Gavin Kaysen of Minneapolis’s Spoon and Stable, Bellecour and Demi.
Night two, held on June 8, spotlights Local Legends: Josef Centeno of Bäco
Mercat, Bar Amà and Orsa & Winston; Genevieve Gergis and Ori Menashe of Bestia and Bavel; and Jessica Koslow of SQIRL.
Finally, on June 11, Fox is closing out the series with a dinner cooked by members of his own Rustic Canyon Family, such as Andy Doubrava of Rustic Canyon; Erin Eastland and Jen Toomey of Huckleberry, Milo & Olive and the new Milo SRO; Bryant Ng of Cassia and more.
Tickets to each dinner run $85 per person, though if you want to go all the way, a $45 supplement will get you wine pairing pours from the Rustic Canyon Family's wine director, Kathryn Coker. (Trust us, let her lead the way.) Reservations are available now through Resy, the series partner.
