Beachwood Cafe

There's a lot about Beachwood Cafe that defies sterotypes. Yes, it's in Hollywood and yes, you can see the ubiquitous sign from the cafe's sidewalk, a sight that often draws people into the middle of the street to snap a photo. But inside, Beachwood is more hometown than Hollywood. Canyon residents fill up tables and the kitchen counter throughout the day, many of them regulars who know the exceptionally friendly waiters by name. Breakfast runs until 3pm—hello, hangover food—when you can order dishes like baked brioche french toast, scrambles and homemade granola. There's plenty here for vegetarians, too, and even meat-eaters will want to order Sophia's Bowl: a hefty bowl full of sesame tofu, ginger kale, cucumber, daikon pickles and peanut sauce. And, what the hell, order a glass of beer or wine to go along with it—it'll help your hangover, we swear.
