Grilled spot prawns, freshly made mozzarella, lamb sliders—here are the best bites from An Evening on the Beach 2015
There's nothing quite so LA as sipping wine and eating incredible food while watching the sunset. On a beach. Barefoot. At the sixth annual An Evening on the Beach, which donates all proceeds towards St. Vincent Meals on Wheels of Los Angeles, guests kicked off their sandals infront of the Jonathan Beach Club before noshing on bites from some of LA's best restaurants. As a band played in the background and the sky lit up with streaks of pink, purple and orange, we made our way through samples from Salt's Cure and Sqirl, Eveleigh and Patina, Wexler's Deli and aestus. Our favorite bites were just as varied: a plate of grilled spot prawns with coconut sticky rice from WP24 was exotic and fresh, while Belcampo's lamb burger was a flavor bomb of rustic meat, mint and tamarind chutney. The desserts were also a hit, with the standout being a slab of white chocolate with fresh fruit and edible flowers from Compartés Chocolatier.
