Reach under your couch cushion and your floor mats and you may easily scrounge up enough change for a juicy steak at one of L.A.’s oldest restaurants. To celebrate 98 years in business, the Pacific Dining Car—with locations in Santa Monica and just west of Downtown L.A.—is offering its signature baseball steak for only 98 cents. Of course, there’s a small catch, but it’s a pretty easy-to-navigate one: You’ll need to request a reservation first for any day through the end of September, and you only have until August 23 to do so. Make no mistake: This steak is no slouch, which has earned the institution a spot on our list of L.A.’s best steakhouses. The 10oz baseball steak will normally run you over $40, so we’d say this 8oz à la carte option is a pretty tempting offer.
