Our favorite TV show set in Pasadena is hosting a screening in L.A. with nearly the entire cast in attendance—and nope, we’re not talking about The Big Bang Theory.

Before Shrinking wraps up its second second, the cast and creators of the Apple TV+ comedy will come together for a screening and panel presented by the Paley Center for Media. On Thursday, December 12 at 7pm, PaleyLive’s “An Evening with Shrinking will head to the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills for an early airing of this season’s penultimate episode, followed by a conversation with (most of) the show’s leads and creative team.

Writers and creators Bill Lawrence (of Scrubs and Ted Lasso fame), Jason Segel (who stars in the show as Jimmy) and Brett Goldstein (who guests this season as Louis) will all be in attendance, as will much of the show’s excellent core cast, including Jessica Williams (Gaby), Luke Tennie (Sean), Christa Miller (Liz), Lukita Maxwell (Alice) and Ted McGinley (Derek). Notably absent: Harrison Ford—which seems on-brand for Paul, the charmingly crotchety therapist he plays in the series.

Tickets are on sale now for the Paley Center’s highest-tier members; that opportunity will extend to individual, family and supporting tier memberships on Wednesday, November 13 at 9am. Tickets roll out to the general public on Thursday, November 14 at 9am. Seats cost between $60 and $125 for the general public, and $40 to $100 for members.

The series, which follows Segel’s self-destructive widower as he tries to patch up his personal life and therapy practice, landed on Time Out’s list of 2023’s best TV shows for its first season’s surprisingly feel-good mix of melancholy and comedy—particularly thanks to its scene-stealing supporting cast. For San Gabriel Valley residents, though, there’s an extra incentive to watching the show: its sunny Pasadena setting. Episodes routinely feature recognizable locations like the city’s Central Park, plus local businesses like Copa Vida and Lucky Baldwin’s sister pub east of Pasadena City College; Altadena and Eagle Rock make some appearances, too, alongside scenes shot on the Warner Bros. Studio lot.
