Travis Scott’s return to Coachella has been a long time coming. The Auto-Tune–wielding rapper was supposed to top 2020’s canceled edition, and though it seemed all but certain he’d play the music festival’s 2022 return, he didn’t actually end up on that year’s lineup (which was announced only a couple of months after the fatal crowd crush at the rapper’s Astroworld Festival in Houston).
But now he’s heading to Indio with a “designs the desert” credit to his name on the fest’s lineup poster. Here’s everything we know—including just what that cryptic tagline might mean—about Scott’s headlining Coachella performance.
What day is Travis Scott performing at Coachella?
You can catch him during the fest’s first weekend on Saturday, April 12; he’ll return to the stage for weekend two on Saturday, April 19.
What time will Travis Scott play the Coachella stage?
Hopefully you don’t mind staying up late: Travis Scott is slated to take the stage at 11:40pm. Though Green Day, who’ll perform on the Coachella/Main stage before Scott, are technically the Saturday night headliner according to the lineup poster, Scott will really be the last to perform on that stage (he essentially has the equivalent of an “and…” credit in a movie or TV show).
Has Travis Scott played Coachella before?
Yes, in 2017 he played the Outdoor Theatre—where he arrived on the back of a giant bird puppet. In addition to that very crowded, high-energy set, he appeared as a guest during Kendrick Lamar’s headlining slot that same year.
Any news on Travis Scott’s setlist for Coachella?
We, of course, don’t know everything he’ll be performing ahead of time, but we can make some pretty decent guesses. Normally we’d look to some recent performances for a clue, but Scott’s latest sets have largely been short ones for sporting events or parties—though “FE!N” and “No Bystanders” factored into basically all of them. In 2024, he was still touring in support of Utopia, so it’s likely plenty of tracks from that album will make their way into his set.
But it’s also worth mentioning that JackBoys 2 is due out this year—that’s the sophomore effort for Scott’s hip-hop collective that includes Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo and Scott’s DJ, Chase B—so we’d bet the first singles, “4x4” and “ILMB,” will at the very least be in the set.
What special guests might show up?
There’s a chance that Scott’s special guests might very well be the performance. In an interview with Complex, Scott said that he’s looking at his set as a “social thing” where he’s acting as curator. That certainly tracks with the “designs the desert” credit he has on the lineup poster. If that’s the case, his JackBoys collaborators seem pretty likely to make an appearance—particularly Sheck Wes, who just joined Scott for a March Madness concert in Texas. Outside of that, Scott has worked with just about every major name in hip-hop, so literally anyone could show up—and we mean anyone, like when Owen Wilson joined him on stage at Rolling Loud Miami.
Can I watch a live stream of Travis Scott?
