It’s always a good day when a pretty looking cafe that happens to serve top-notch coffee drinks decides to open up in our neighborhood.

On that roster is Camel Coffee, a popular chain in South Korea that will debut its first-ever U.S. location along the Silver Lake-Los Feliz border at 4459 Sunset Boulevard (just across the street from the Vista) some time this May.

According to Eater, the 2,000-square-foot space spans two floors and an outdoor patio; it’ll be taking over the short-lived Cafe Caravan, which itself had replaced the longtime Caffe Vita.

The outlet also reports that husband-and-wife duo Joshua Park, the operations manager of the L.A. brick-and-mortar, and Alice Kim, the owner, first met the chain’s founder in 2020 and started working on opening an outpost in the U.S. in 2022.

As made clear across the many social media posts from the South Korea cafes, Camel Coffee is all about beautiful spaces and creative-looking coffee drinks.

On the menu will be the chain’s signature coffee, made with, according to Eater, a double espresso shot and milk that is then topped with a “proprietary cream.” There’ll be milk tea on offer as well, alongside misugaru, a Korean grain powder that’s often added to water or milk to concoct a special, thirst-quenching drink.

Food-wise, bakery standards like croissants and scones will share menu space with South Korean specialties, among them a madeleine-like treat made with hazelnut butter and caramelized sugar called “le tigre.”

Get ready for your Instagram feed to be drenched in the sort of coffee drinks and visually striking pastries that will have you running to Silver Lake every single morning.
