Brace yourself for a whole bunch of rear windshields scrawled with “horses in the back” on the drive out to the desert: The Stagecoach 2020 lineup just dropped, and Lil Nas X is on the lineup.
Held the weekend following Coachella (and on the same grounds), the Indio festival brings country music’s biggest modern stars for a three-day country music pilgrimage. Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and Eric Church top this year’s radio-friendly lineup. The fest, which takes place April 24 to 26, also includes Brett Young, Dustin Lynch, Dan + Shay, Midland, ZZ Top, Alan Jackson, Jon Pardi and Bryan Adams, among others.
And, yep, both Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus (who debuted the live version of “Old Town Road” at the 2019 fest) are on Friday’s lineup, with Diplo set to bring his late-night party to the fest again on Sunday night. With the core “Old Town Road” collaborators there, we’re sure you’ll hear the hit again, probably even multiple times. When the pair made a cameo during Diplo’s weekend-closing set last year, at the height of the viral hit’s popularity, it was a moment. But who knows if you’ll ever want to hear that song again come six months from now—but then again, who knows what else they’ll all have in store.
Tickets for the festival will go on sale Friday, October 18 at 11am. Though a quick glance at the Stagecoach site may make it seem that ticket prices have dropped, Goldenvoice has instead begun hiding the cost of extra fees under an extra click. So with feeds, general admission three-day passes start at $354, a modest $5 bump over last year. A shuttle combo pass costs $419 and a secured spot in the standing pit holds steady at $1,399. If you’re after a reserved seat, those cost between $899 and $1,399. Car camping starts at $200, with $60 for a companion spot.
