Brat summer may be over, but Charli XCX is still riding the wave of pop-star girl power with the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan. Now the English singer and songwriter is bringing her buoyant beats and catchy refrains to Indio for Coachella 2025—and though she’s technically not Saturday night’s headliner, she’s by far one of the most anticipated acts this weekend.
Here’s everything we know—and a few things we predict—about her performance before she takes the stage in Indio.
What day is Charli XCX performing at Coachella?
She’ll be performing on Saturday, April 12, during the festival’s first weekend (she’ll also play Saturday, April 19, during the second weekend).
What time will Charli XCX play the Coachella stage?
Charli will take the stage at 7:15pm and is scheduled to perform till 8:10pm. She’s playing the Coachella—a.k.a. the main—stage after T-Pain and before the penultimate act of the night, Green Day.
Has Charli XCX played Coachella before?
Yes—Charli played Coachella just two years ago, when she also performed on the main stage but earlier in the evening, before Rosalía, Blackpink and Calvin Harris.
Any news on Charli XCX’s setlist for Coachella?
The setlist hasn’t been released for Charli’s performance, but the singer has performed at a handful of festivals in Mexico and Australia this year with nearly identical setlists. She usually starts things off with Brat closer “365” played back-to-back with the album’s first track, “360.” “Von Dutch,” “I might say something stupid,” “Club classics,” “Unlock It,” “Apple,” “Spring breakers,” “Girl, so confusing” and “Everything is romantic”—most of which are also from the Grammy-winning Brat—have been making appearances too. You can also expect to hear the perennial party anthem “I Love It”—technically a cover of the Icona Pop song that Charli sang on in 2012 and helped propel her to fame.
But there’s also speculation that Charli might switch up her typical playlist for the fest. A billboard en route to the desert depicts the iconic lime-green Brat album cover… with the word “brat” scribbled out. Fans are speculating this means she’ll pull the setlist from Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, an album of Brat remixes Charli released last October, four months after Brat. Or, perhaps, in an even bigger (but more unlikely) twist, it could signify the start of a new era for the singer.
What special guests might show up?
There’s no official news on which special guests might join Charli onstage, but there are plenty of exciting options, given the roster of musical talent that collaborated with her on Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat. No. 1 on the wish list is Billie Eilish, whose remix version of chart-topping track “Guess” is Charli’s most-played track on Spotify, with over half a billion listens (the collab also just won the Brit Award for song of the year).
Other top contenders for special guests are Shygirl and Lorde, as Charli has been performing their remixes of “365” and “Girl, so confusing,” respectively, at recent shows. And there are even whispers that Iggy Azalea might make an appearance to resurrect “Fancy,” which Charli famously featured on back in 2014.
